An attempt at a second verse:
Suppose that gas is priced in values changing one cent at a time,
And that last year a gallon cost us just two dollars and a dime,
Then if three-fifty at the gasoline pump is the current score,
Then surely it was three bucks sometime between (on the way to four!)
